Montgomery events

Thursday, November 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Montgomery Lions Club will be serving a free turkey dinner at the Lions Hall on Main Street. Takeouts are also available.

Thursday, November 25th, 11:30 am to 2 p.m., free Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be served at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown. Reservations are helpful, but not required. Call 538-5300 and leave a message telling how many will be coming.

Thursday, Friday, Monday, November 25, 26, and 29, Montgomery Borough office closed.

Tuesday, December 7, 12:00 noon, Montgomery Area Senior Citizens will have their Christmas Party at St. John Lutheran Church (Brick Church). Health checks will begin at 11a.m. Entertainment will follow by Carl and Opal Schlappi with their repertoire of country, traditional, and comedy music. Reservations are required for the catered meal. Please call Charles Duchman at 547-1160 prior to December 3rd. Visitors are welcome for the cost of the meal. Membership dues of $3.00 for 2011 will be collected.

Since the 1950s, the Watsontown Police Department has been operating a Christmas program which provides presents to needy children in the Warrior Run School District. If you would like to add your young children to the list, you know of a family in need this Christmas, or would like to donate, please contact the Watsontown Police Department at 570-538-2773.
