Hughesville events
Train enthusiasts Rob and Cindy Mueller will feature their Polar Express display at the East Lycoming Historical Society on Saturday, December 4. The display will coincide with the town’s annual Christmas Parade. In addition, Charles Hughes will be on hand to share the history of the former W&NB Railroad, which serviced the town until the late 1930’s.
The West Branch Chorale, under the direction of Jeanne Berninger, will present “Together At Christmas” on Sunday, December 5 at Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville at 3 p.m.
The Hughesville Garden club will meet at 6 p.m. on December 6 at the Methodist Church on Main Street for their annual Christmas party. Call Patty Lundy at 584-3202 for more information.
The Farragut United Methodist Church will host its monthly First Tuesday Fellowship Dinner on December 7 from 5:30-7 p.m. Free-will donations are accepted. The Huntersville Area Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at LCCC in Hughesville for their Christmas dinner. Carl and Opal Schlappi will entertain.
The Hughesville Area Public Library Pre-school Story Hour will be held on December 10 at 10:30 a.m. Miss Sue will have several stories and a simple craft for a fun time for pre-schoolers. Please call to sign up so that there are enough materials.
The public is invited to an open house featuring The Nativity at the Picture Rocks United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 12 from 1-5 p.m.
Toys For Tots. The Luminary and East Lycoming Shopper are requesting new unwrapped toys. Please drop off your toy by December 17. Your toy will bring much happiness to a local child.
Congratulations to Sue Edner on her retirement from the Susquehanna Heath System. Sue worked in the Same Day Surgery Unit in Muncy. Now that Sue has retired, I’m sure that she will be stimulating the economy in the area with her own stimulus package. Good luck and enjoy, Sue.
