Kids’ blues workshop scheduled at Blues Festival

Mitch Ivanoff and Andy Barnhart will be teaching kids how to play the harmonica at this Sunday's Blues Festival at the Hughesville Fairgrounds.

HUGHESVILLE – Andy Barnhart and Mitch Ivanoff will present the popular kid’s blues harmonica workshop this Sunday at the Billtown Blues Festival. Kids will receive a free harmonica on a first come-first serve basis for two 30 minute sessions of basic instruction each ending with a group performance.

At 5 p.m. Shawn Strickland will entertain as winner of this year’s Billtown Audition Concert and is now eligible to represent the Billtown Blues Association in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge.

Then at 6:30 p.m. the incredibly diverse George Kilby Jr. will stretch out with his 45 minute special guest acoustic performance. Expect George to deliver anything from Louisiana swamp blues to traditional country blues and everything in between. Joining George will be Barbeque Bob on harmonica. George is also featured at 1 p.m. on the main stage with his full band.

Advanced ticket sales with discount prices will be available at Franco’s Lounge, 12 W 4th St., and the Genetti Hotel in downtown Williamsport, Hulls Landing in Muncy, The Lockard Agency in Hughesville, Cumberland Truck Parts in Milton, and Prana Juice Bar in Bloomsburg. and Brushstrokes in Lewisburg. Other locations are in Wellsboro and Lock Haven.
