This classic tale of an aging toymaker and his puppet, Pinocchio, takes on timely issues, and Grammy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz adds a compelling score of original songs to the beloved classics “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings.” Tim Vasse as “Geppetto” plays opposite Olivia Pierce, who has been cast as “Pinocchio.” In addition, Joseph Pierce portrays “Junior” while Jeanna Stiadle performs her magic as the “Blue Fairy.” Chris Daily takes on the role of “Stromboli.”
The musical is directed by Christie Heimbach, with TJ McCabe as musical director. The show is produced by “Calvary,” an outreach ministry of Muncy First United Methodist Church focusing on a faith-based approach to the performing arts. Begun in 1999, Calvary productions have included “Children of Eden,” “Godspell,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and other Broadway shows.
Ten percent of the proceeds from “My Son Pinocchio” will be donated to the United Methodist Home for Children in Mechanicsburg. The church is located at 602 S. Market St., Muncy.
