Friday July 29 Muncy’s Last Friday Event downtown 5 to 8 p.m. featuring live music, food, art and crafts. The Ritz Theatre will be playing Smurfs starting at 7 p.m.
August 1-5 Pennsdale Trinity and Huntersville United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School “SonSurf Beach Bash” from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Friday ages 3 through sixth grade. Muncy Valley Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Unit is hosting support meetings for Alzheimers on the first Tuesday of each month. Aug. 5 & 6 Women In the Outdoors program at North Mountain Sportsmen’s Club, Muncy Valley. The Muncy Creek Chapter will begin activities Friday night at 6 p.m. Choose from novice shotgun, wilderness cooking or the basics of trailing animals. Overnight camping is available. Campers must bring own equipment. On Saturday a variety of workshops will also be offered such as kayaking, canoeing, attracting bluebirds, wilderness cooking, shotgunning, turkey calling, jewelry making, cowboy action shooting, bass fishing, fly tying, and pistol familiarization. There will be a WWII Victory in the Pacific tribute on Aug. 6th 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the War Memorial Museum in Sonestown.Memorabilia and weapons from the Pacific War
will be highlighted as well as US Homefront regalia ,Japanese War souviners,and exhibits pertaining to the dropping of the atomic bomb (Aug. 6th 1945) and WWII victory celebrations.Veterans and familys of veterans who served there are encouraged to bring thier own related memorabilia and stories to share for the day. Display tables are available upon request and additional information about the event can be accessed by calling 570-482-2610 (ask for Jack) or e-mail craftj@epix.net.
