Considering that two mosquitos from Montgomery and Washington Township have tested positive for the West Nile virus, we should all be aware of symptoms of the virus: fever, headache, body aches, skin rash and swollen lymph glands. Saturday, August 6, 9 to 11 a.m. (registration) Second Annual Benefit Motorcycle Ride will be held beginning at the Fireman’s Carnival Grounds, Montgomery. A Scrabble Scramble Run will be held in lieu of the poker run. A barbecue chicken dinner is included in price of registration. All proceeds will benefit the Sunnybrook Meadows Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program for handicapped individuals.
Tuesday, August 9, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., The “Montgomery Community Closet” at Christ Lutheran Church 50 East Houston Avenue, Montgomery, offers free clothing to anyone in the Montgomery School District who has a clothing need. Donations of clean clothing and shoes will also be accepted during this time.
