Aug. 10 program on the importance of healthy nutrition at the Meck Senior Center at 11:45 followed by lunch.

Fri. Aug. 12 Under the Thunder Moon, a program about how the moon got its name and explore superstitious folklore about the moon. Meet at the Environmental Education Center at the Montour Preserve at 7:30 p.m. and end with a leisurely evening stroll under the moon at 9 p.m.

Aug. 12 & 13 tag sale at Muncy Historical Society, 40 N. Main St., Muncy. Friday 9 to 3, Saturday 9 to noon. New and like new items for sale.

Aug. 13 Community day at the Muncy pool. Free admission.

Benefit ride for Auburn Segraves Saturday Aug. 13 at VFW in Muncy. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and ride departs at 11 a.m. She is a 13 year old girl being treated for grade #3 cancerous brain tumor. Special events will be held from 1 to 6 p.m.

Sunday Aug. 14 Muncy Public Library will hold its annual skating party from 3 to 5 p.m. at Trout Pond Park. For more information call the library at 546-5014.

Sunday Aug. 14 Herbs and edibles at Montour Preserve. Learn healthy and creative cooking with Robert Brown in the Herb Garden for an afternoon on tips cooking and cultivating herbs. Meet at education center at 2 p.m. Learn to make herb infused vinegars and oils. Program ends at 5 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 15 Tag Sale at Muncy Historical Society, 40 N. Main St., Muncy from 9 to 3. New and like new items for sale.

Osteoporosis Screenings Available August 15 at The LifeCenter. The risk for osteoporosis increases with age, menopause, inactivity and lifestyle choices or inherited tendencies. A quick and painless ultrasound heel screening to measure bone density level will be offered on Monday, August 15 at The LifeCenterTM, Bon-Ton/JC Penney wing of Lycoming Mall. Aug. 18 Muncy Garden Club meets at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, parish hall, 215 S. Main Street, Muncy. Program will be on “The History of Medical Herbs.”

Aug. 18 is Around the World Gym night at the Muncy Public Library, 108 A. Main St. at 7 p.m. The event will be geared toward kids ages 5 to 8. Registration is required by calling 546-5014.

AARP Driver Safety Four-Hour Refresher Course Scheduled August 18?A four-hour AARP Drivers Safety Refresher course will be held Thursday, August 18 from 12:30 to 4:30 pm at The LifeCenter of Lycoming Mall for individuals who have previously completed the two-day, eight-hour course. Prepayment is required. Please pre-register on Mondays or Wednesdays from 9:30 am to noon by calling the Lincoln Senior Center at 570-323-3096.

“Rocky Horror Show” will be held at the Pennsdale Volunteer Fire Company Grounds on Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
