Beginning October 1, the Muncy Public Library will have new hours. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 12 – 8, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 9 – 4. Closed Sundays.
Muncy Homecoming game is also this Friday night at 7 p.m.
Sept. 30 Open House Celebration at Muncy Skilled Nursing Unit at 2 p.m.
Sept. 30 Muncy Last Friday on Main Street with live music, food, crafts and activities for children from 4 to 7 p.m. Also there will be a Chili Cook Off.To participate in the cook-off see Tillie at Orlie’s Deli. “The Help” will be playing at Ritz at 7 p.m. after the chili cook-off.
Oct. 1 the Early American Industries Association will host a regional display for the public on tools, history and trades beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Sones Farm and Home Museum, 92 Industrial Park Road, Muncy. Entrance fee required.
Oct. 1 Fall festival fundraiser at Clarkstown United Methodist Church starting at 2 p.m. and auction at 4 p.m. Bring your lawn chair, listen to live music, get something to eat and enjoy the fellowship. All proceeds benefit the Stained Glass Windows restoration project.
Oct. 1 & 2 Warrior Run-Fort Freeland Heritage Days behind the Warrior Run School. Lots of food and music and wagon rides. Parking is free. Artisan’s auction Sunday at 3 p.m. Call Rick Wolfe at 538-1006 for more information.
Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown, will hold a Roast Pork Dinner on Saturday, October 1st, 2011, starting at 4 p.m. Children ages 5-12, and 4 & under are free. (A children’s meal will be offered). Take-outs available. Further information, call the church office at 538-1017.
Oct. 4 Alzheimer Association Support Group Meeting at Muncy Valley Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Unit at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. The topic will be an “Open Discussion.” If you have any questions, please contact Mark Britten, Social Services at (570) 546-4040.
Oct. 5 story time for 3-5 year olds at Muncy Library from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. This program will be held every Weds. morning in Oct.
Oct. 5 & 6 Son Light Distribution Days. Weds. from 10 to noon and Thurs. from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 6 the Area Agency on Aging will hold a public “Meet and Greet” event fro 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sullivan County Elementary School. Light refreshments will be provided.
Oct. 7 Early Bird Toddler Tales at Muncy Library from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. for ages 1 to 3 1/2 with Miss Victoria. This program will be held every Friday morning in October.
Oct. 7 classes begin for Dining with Diabetes with Penn State Cooperative Extension at the Life Center. Series of classes will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday in October. Registration is required by calling 877-489-1398. It is a program for adults with diabetes and their families. Participants will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, simple and tasty. Attendees will receive gifts and exercise DVD’s.

State certified snowmobile safety course will be offered Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Best Line Equipment, 25 Legion Road, Muncy. Register in advance by calling 546-8422.
Fall Open House Oct. 30 at Vineyard Community Activity Center, 99 Sherman St., Muncy from 6 to 9 p.m. Trick or Treat alternative is to play pool, air hockey, fooseball, TV videos. Refreshments and beverages served, a rest stop for everyone.
