Oct. 13 Skin Cancer screenings with Albright Care at Meck Senior Center, 10 to noon.

Thurs. Oct. 13 AARP Driver Safety 4 hour refresher course from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Life Center in the Lycoming Mall. Call 323-3096 to register.

Oct. 15 St. John Lutheran Church in Unityville will hold its fall Smorgasbord dinner starting at 4 p.m. Those under age 5 eat free.

The 5th Annual Myers Elementary Fall Festival in Muncy will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15th from 11-3 at the elementary school.

Oct. 15 and 16 Pumpkin Festival at Unityville Fire Company from 9 to 5.

Oct. 15 Family fun story time at Muncy Library 10:30 to 11 a.m. for all ages.

Annual book swap Oct. 18 at Muncy Library noon to 8 p.m. Exchange yours for something different.

Oct. 16 Historic Homes and Walking Tour in and around Muncy, noon to 4. Call the Muncy Historical Society at 546-5917 for tickets.

Oct. 16 the Muncy chapter of MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, will meet in the lounge of the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy. from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 16 Noon to 4 Historic Homes and Walking tour of various properties around Muncy. Call the Historical Society for tickets at 546-5917.

Sunday Annual homecoming at Moreland Baptist Church, 118 Moreland Baptist Rd., will at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Linda Quodoomine. Special music by Bobbi Grieco and a church history by Bonnie Bower Snyder.

Annual book swap at Muncy Library from noon to 8 p.m. for all ages. Exchange for something different and enjoy a snack, tea or coffee while browsing.

Oct.18 Brown Bag Medicine check at the Life Center from 11a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Specialists will share information about potentially harmful food and drug interactions. Bring all OTC’s, vitamins and herbs and supplements in a bag in original containers.

Weds. Oct. 19 Colorectal Cancer: How screening, detection and treatment can save lives. A discussion at the Life Center with Dr. David Schaefer at 11 a.m. Free Colorectal home screening kits will be provided.

Oct. 19 & 20 distribution days at Son Light House in Muncy. Weds. from 10 to noon and Thurs. from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For more information call 546-7307.

Muncy Garden Club will meet Oct. 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish House at St. James Church, Main St., Muncy. Program: Crafting with dried flowers and herbs with holly. Refreshments will be served. Bring cat or dog food for LAPS or litter, bleach or towels.

Oct. 20-22 – Pennsdale Haunted Barn starting at 6 p.m. at the Pennsdale Volunteer Fire Company.

Sat. Oct. 22 Turkey Talk at Montour Preserve. Explore the history of wild turkeys in North America and learn how turkeys make their living and how they became our national symbol. Also spend time in some fun turkey activities from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Call 437-3131 to register.

Piggy Bank Tales at Muncy Library Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. for ages 3 to 6. Buck the Bank Mascot will make an appearance to teach young children how to save money in a fun way!

State certified snowmobile safety course will be offered Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Best Line Equipment, 25 Legion Road, Muncy. Register in advance by calling 546-8422. Instructors are Bill and Nancy Stugart.

Sunday Oct. 23 Open House at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit for the expansion renovation project from 2 to 4 p.m. Tours will begin in the family gathering area with a brief program and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Sat. Oct. 27, Blood Drive with American Red Cross at Sam’s Club, Lycoming Mall Circle, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Last Friday event Oct. 28 Get ready for Halloween on Main Street from 4 to 7 p.m. with a pie judging contest, pumpkin decorating, free popcorn and view 3 new streetscape designs.

Fall Open House Oct. 30 at Vineyard Community Activity Center, 99 Sherman St., Muncy from 6 to 9 p.m. Trick or Treat alternative is to play pool, air hockey, fooseball, TV videos. Refreshments and beverages served, a rest stop for everyone.

Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown, will hold a Scalloped Chicken Dinner (Chicken casserole w/filling) on Saturday, November 5th, 2011, starting at 4 p.m. Ages 4 & under are free.
