Hughesville events
Hughesville Borough residents can start taking their leaves between the curb and the sidewalk starting November 1, 2011. Pick-up will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Crews will not pick up brush, and there will be no alley pick-ups.
It is time for the 2012 Relay for Life of Tri-Town Kickoff. Please join us on November 2, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Hughesville Fire Hall. Take time to Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back.We are looking for committee members, new teams and sponsors.
The 16thAnnual Saint Nick’s Novelties Craft Show will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Hughesville High School. Over 100 vendors will attend, plus raffles and cafeteria style lunches.

The Farragut United Methodist Church hosts its 107thannual Chicken and Waffle Dinner on November 5 from 1 to 7 p.m. Take outs are available. The church is located on Rte. 864 near the intersection with Rte. 87.
A soup fundraiser will be held at the Tivoli United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 5. The soup kettles will be fired up outside and used to make ham and bean, chicken corn and vegetable beef. Soup will be sold by the bowl or the quart. A lunch will be served and baked goods will also be available.
The Huntersville Area Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, November 9 at 6 p.m. at the Huntersville United Methodist Church for a tureen dinner. Please bring a dish to share, table service and a nonperishable food item for the Son Light House. Reservations for the catered Christmas dinner will be taken at the meeting.
The 39+ Club will meet on November 9 at the Trinity Lutheran Social Hall. Please bring a dish to share. Lunch will be around 11:45 a.m. Mr. Robert Websterwill be the guest speaker. He will be speaking on the fifties. New members are always welcome.
