Hunter Dunlap, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner and a volunteer acolyte at the United Methodist Church, Clarkstown, lights candles at a December service. Replacing the church’s former manger scene damaged during September’s water woes, this current crèche scene was donated to the church by Mrs. Velma (Albert) Stover.

Candlelight service

TURBOTVILLE – The Warrior Run-Fort Freeland Heritage Society will present its annual Candlelight Service at the historic Warrior Run Church, 41 Warrior Lane, on Saturday, December 10 at 7 p.m. featuring John Ravert playing the pipe organ and the Rev. Paul Kauffman of Dewart, preaching. Hot spiced cider and cookies will be served afterward. For more information call 538-1006.

Family concert

LAIRDSVILLE – The Wehry Family will perform in a Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9 at Lairdsville Faith Church, 6786 Route 118. Call Pastor Max L. Walters Jr. at 584-2765 for more information.

Open house

PICTURE ROCKS – Picture Rocks United Methodist Church, 42 Laurel Run Road, will hold a Christmas Open House featuring numerous Nativity displays from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Light refreshments will be served.

Christmas Drive-thru

MONTGOMERY – A Christmas Drive-Thru Experience will he held Friday and Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at New Covenant Assembly of God Church, 1270 Pinchtown Road, Montgomery. See the wise men begin their journey as they follow the special star, and hear the angels give their special instructions. Make your way through the crowded marketplace to the stable beneath the inn – all without leaving your car and no admission fee. There will be small gifts for the first 100 cars. Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown will be celebrated with three Candlelight Services: 4 p.m. – Children’s Service with music by the Sunday School Kids Khoir and special Children’s Sermon; 7 p.m. – Family Service with music by Chimes for Christ Choir, Intergenerational Choir, Lighthouse Choir, and Praise Band; 11 p.m. – Traditional Service with Communion, plus music by the Adult Choir and Covenant Bells.
