New correspondent to write for Montgomery locals

Samantha "Sam" Kantner
MONTGOMERY – Welcome Samantha ‘Sam’ Kantner to The Luminary. A Montgomery native and a recent graduate from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business, she will begin as a new correspondent for the Montgomery locals. While at Penn State, Sam was active in the Penn State Marketing Association, and THON, the largest student-run philanthropy organization in the world. She earned her bachelor of science degree in Marketing and minored in the Legal Environment of Business.
Although her profession is in the business world, Kantner said she is an avid reader and has a passion for writing. “I’ve always enjoyed going to the Library and spending time there,” she said. Kantner also assisted the Montgomery Library with their 100 anniversary celebration in November.
She is also employed full time in Williamsport as a marketing coordinator for Energy Controls Group, a subsidiary of Supply Source. Her hobbies include watching and playing sports, and reading any kind of book. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 2007, and resides in Montgomery with her family. She said she likes living in Montgomery and is happy to have employment here. “Montgomery is a great place to live because everybody knows everybody, and it’s more like a family than a town,” she said.
She hopes to bring her passion for writing to The Luminary.
