2012 is bringing with it many changes for Montgomery. The Christ Lutheran Church on Houston Avenue will be closing its doors, due to declining congregation numbers and a lack of funding. The backbone of many small neighborhoods like ours is the church, a place to gather for people of all ages, to support and guide the community. These churches now need our support. I encourage you to venture out and see what the local churches in the Montgomery Area have to offer. A listing of service times can be found below.

I would like to apologize for a misprint regarding the Historical Society event on the history of the Hain family home. It was January 17, not the 22. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Montgomery Area Events

Jan 29 – The remodeling project required at the Oak Grove Community Center due to flood damage caused by the mysterious “Sinks” rising to unprecedented levels in any living individuals’ memory during 2011 are complete. An Open House will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m, at the Oak Grove Community Center, Elimsport Rd, Brady Township

Feb 5 – Breakfast will be served from 8 AM to 12 Noon at the Oak Grove Community Center, Elimsport Rd, Brady Township

Feb 6 – Bingo will resume at 6 PM at the Oak Grove Community Center, Elimsport Rd, Brady Township

The Black Hole Creek Watershed Association organizational meeting will be Tuesday, February 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Borough Office. Following the meeting, at 7 p.m., Erick Moore, the director of the new “West Branch Regional Authority” will tell us about that project. The new regional wastewater treatment plant will be located between the boroughs of Muncy and Montgomery. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information, call 570-547-6289.
