According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. The simplest way to combat this disease? Heart-healthy physical activity. Get out and enjoy the warmer than average temperatures we’ve been experiencing with a walk through Montgomery. And when it starts to get colder, hit the gym at the Montgomery Area Community Center during their adult and family hours. It’s a much friendlier environment than your usual gym. Feb 5 – Breakfast will be served from 8 AM to 12 Noon at the Oak Grove Community Center, Elimsport Rd, Brady Township

Feb 6 – Bingo will resume at 6 PM at the Oak Grove Community Center, Elimsport Rd, Brady Township.

Feb 7 – The Black Hole Creek Watershed Association organizational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Borough Office. Following the meeting, at 7 p.m., Erick Moore, the director of the new “West Branch Regional Authority” will tell us about that project. The new regional wastewater treatment plant will be located between the boroughs of Muncy and Montgomery. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information, call 570-547-6289.

March 6 – Montgomery Area School District Pre-K and Kindergartenregistration will be held for the 2012-2013 school year, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., in the District Office, 120 Penn St., Montgomery.
