Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Bye Bye Birdie” for their magnificent performances last weekend. The students of Hughesville High School did a fantastic job of singing, dancing and performing in this fun filled musical. Well done!

Hughesville events

The Hughesville Area Public Library will be hosting another E-Book Expo on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Learn firsthand from expert Sue Mayshock’s step-by-step instructions on how to download e-books from the library website to your Kindle, Nook or other e-reader. If you do not have an e-reader yet, she will have several to look at and information about the different brands. Pre-registration is suggested and can be made by calling 584-3762.

Preschool story hour will be held on Friday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m. Several stories and a simple craft will last about an hour. Please call to sign up at 584-3762 so that there are enough materials.

Christ United Methodist Church will be hosting an all-you-can-eat Pork and Kraut Dinner on Saturday, March 10 from 4-7 p.m.

Friends of the Hughesville Library will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, March 12 in the library’s community room.

The Picture Rocks Fire Company will be holding an all-you-can-eat Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, March 11 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Hughesville Garden Club will meet on March 12 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Huntersville Area Senior Citizens will meet on Monday, March 12 at noon at the Huntersville United Methodist Church for a Pizza Luncheon. Members are asked to bring a wrapped article for the White Elephant. New members are always welcome.

Phenomenon and Paranormal Investigations Group of Ulster, PA will be doing a presentation on Tuesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. The group has investigated many paranormal events, including happenings at Elmira Civil War prison camp, Old Methodist Church, Mill Hill Manor, Barclay Cemetery and Centralia. They will talk about their experiences, their equipment and some of their conclusions. Come and see what these investigators are finding in the paranormal world. Call to register at 584-3762.
