Hughesville Public Library will be having a Preschool Story Hour on Friday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. Several stories and a simple craft will last about an hour. Please sign up at 584-3762 so there will be enough materials for everyone.
Bethany United Methodist Church will be having a Sugar Cookie Sale on Friday, May 4. Order by May 2 by calling 584-2044 or 584-2301.
Hughesville Rotary Club will be holding a Pig Roast on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take outs are available. Advance tickets may be obtained from any Rotarian.
The 14th Annual Golf Tournament sponsored by the Greater Hughesville Business Association will be held May 9 at the Mill Race Golf Course in Benton beginning at noon. Registration at 11:30 a.m. To register call Mike or Deb Sullivan at 584-2441. Proceeds will help benefit the Halloween and Christmas parades and Hughesville scholarship funds.
St. Mark’s Church in Lairdsville will celebrate their new beginnings in the community as an Independent Congregation by hosting the Greenwood Valley Boys, an old time country and gospel bluegrass musical group, on Saturday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Following the program will be a time of fellowship with refreshments. A free will-donation will be accepted. The church is handicap accessible. Everyone is welcome!
