Hughesville Rotary Club will be holding a Pig Roast on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take outs are available. Advance tickets may be obtained from any Rotarian.

On Saturday, May 12 the Hughesville High School will be hosting a 2nd Annual Spring Volleyball Tournament. There will be mixed co-ed competitive teams. Start time is 8 a.m. and it promises to be filled with excitement and lots of fun-filled thrills. Come out and watch these teams as they battle to see who is the best!

St. Mark’s Church in Lairdsville will celebrate their new beginnings in the community as an Independent Congregation by hosting the Greenwood Valley Boys, an old time country and gospel bluegrass musical group, on Saturday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Following the program there will be a time of fellowship with refreshments. A free will-donation will be accepted. The church is handicap accessible. Everyone is welcome!

The Tri-Town Relay For Life event will be held from Friday, June 1 at 4 p.m. through Saturday, June 2 at 4 p.m. on the Hughesville High School Track. Come and take a walk around the track; it’s for a good cause and you can get some good exercise as well!

The Billtown Blues Festival will be celebrating 23 years at the Hughesville Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 10. Gates will open at 11 a.m. and the show will run from noon to 10 p.m. Tickets are available at The Lockard Agency, Hull’s Landing and online at billtownblues.org.

Remember, take the high road because the low road’s so crowded.
