By Staff | May 15, 2012

The George A. Ferrell Elementary PTAC will be hosting an open house to celebrate retiring faculty members, Carol Mordan, Dan Smith and Lynn Stola. The event will take place on Sunday, May 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Van Rensselaer Park in Picture Rocks.

Mrs. Carol Mordan is retiring after 37 years of teaching. She graduated from Hughesville High School and Bloomsburg University, and began her career at Ferrell.

Mr. Dan Smith is currently the Physical education teacher at Ferrell and Renn Elementary Schools. He is retiring after 36 years. He graduated from Hughesville High School and the University of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Lynn Stola teaches art at Ferrell and Renn Elementary schools and she is retiring also after 33 years of teaching. She is a graduate of Bloomsburg High School and Kutztown University and Bloomsburg University.

An invitation is extended to anyone in the community who would like to visit with these teachers. They look forward to seeing former students, families and members of the community. There will be special “memory books” for each of the honored retirees so guests and students can write any personal notes, well wishes, memories, or stories. They also welcome any photos.

If unable to attend, a card can also be sent to George A. Ferrell Elementary School, c/o Amanda Anstadt, 31 Court Street, Picture Rocks, PA 17762.

In case of rain, the celebration will be held in the Ferrell Multi-purpose room.
