Montgomery locals
The plans for Montgomery’s Quasquicentennial, its 125th anniversary, are being finalized, and it looks like we are in for a treat. The opening day of the event, Thursday, August 9, will include a parade, starting at 6:30 p.m., which will be followed by an opening ceremony with several prestigious guest speakers.
Friday’s events will include a ladies tea at 6 p.m., and the opening of the 1987 centennial celebration’s time capsule. Saturday, August 11 will include a Grand Parade at 4 p.m., and in the evening, one last bang with a fireworks display. There are several other activities to commence throughout that week in August, including several Montgomery Area Historical Society presentations, and the grand opening of their new location on Houston Avenue. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks, and get ready to celebrate our borough’s history!
