It’s that time of year again – back to school! The first day of school for all students is Monday, August 27. Please remember that if you have any transportation changes for your student from last year, you must fill out the necessary form that can be found on the district’s website, at least twenty-four hours in advance of the change. And be careful of the school buses as children board them and get off at the end of the school day.

The Montgomery Varsity Football team will open their season away on Friday, August 31, at Cowanesque Valley High School in Westfield, PA. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Be sure to go out and support all of your Red Raider teams for the 2012 season!

Montgomery Area Events

August 23 – Montgomery Area Middle School Orientation, 120 Penn St., Montgomery.

August 25 – Peach Festival, Trinity United Church of Christ, Sixth and Main St., Watsontown. Serving of food begins at 4:15 p.m., with round and square dancing starting at 7 p.m. in the street. Music by Tim and Shawn and McNett Country. Menu includes an assortment of festival foods, plus peach ice tea, peach ice cream, homemade pies and cakes, and peach cobblers.

August 27 – First day of school

September 11 is the 11th Annual 9-11 Memorial Ride with a Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. and the Ride immediately after at the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Co., 2311 Rt. 54 Hwy, Montgomery.
