Business Association finalizes plans for Saturday’s Corvette show
MUNCY – At last week’s monthly business meeting, the Muncy Professional Business Association organized the last of the details for this Saturday’s fifth annual Corvette Show and Artists in the Backyard event. Car show registration will begin at 9 a.m. and trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. Most of Main Street will be closed between Water and Penn Streets announced Chris Johnson. Close to 25 trophies will be awarded and all show proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Marcus Myers will be offering free vision screenings for children in the foyer of the Muncy Bank & Trust and a live broadcast with KissFM is scheduled to for 2 p.m. All volunteers and staff will be wearing gray tee-shirts with blue lettering and the Susquehanna Valley Corvette logo. Students from the FBLA club at Muncy High School will also be helping that day in the Kidz Zone area. A picnic area to enjoy delicious food from the food vendors will also be placed along Muncy Bank and Trust. “We will have lots of food vendors this year,” said President, Keri Krause that includes scouts. the Rotary, churches, the Lions Club and Kiwanis.
Most of the activities will begin at 10 a.m., however many will be setting up around 8:30 a.m. About 15 local artists are expected.
Johnson also acknowledged some additional sponsors such as Haywoods Bar and Grill, the Country Store, Lundy Construction, Hughesville Mobile Storage, and Susquehanna Health.
Also in discussion was this month’s Chili Cook Off on Sept. 28, new banners soon to be erected, the Halloween parade, and a beer tasting event at Orlando’s.
The organization is still seeking donations from the community to support the event which can be sent by contacting Karen Spring at 546-3121.
