Historical program on Muncy Farms estate
Well known local historian Robert Webster will be presenting a program on the historic Muncy Manor and Muncy Farms Estate in Muncy Township located near Halls in Eastern Lycoming County on Monday September 17 at 7 p.m. The program will be hosted by the East Lycoming Historical Society (ELHS) and will take place in the Trinity Lutheran Church’s social hall at Main and Academy Streets in Hughesville.
“This estate with its famous mansion has been the scene of more exciting and interesting history than any other in our county,” said Ann B. Hess, publicity chair for the ELHS. The program will highlight the beginning of the estate in 1769 when it was established by Samuel Wallis and continued to owners Hall, Brock and the Barlow families, the present owners.
The public is invited to come and hear this special story. Refreshments follow the program. The museum will be open an hour before the meeting and program begin for those who wish to visit.
