Today, Wednesday Oct. 17 is Love Your Body Day. Most of us dislike what we see when we look in the mirror and that is mostly because Hollywood. the fashion, cosmetics, and diet industries believe our bodies are unacceptable and need constant improvement. So today is a good day to fight back. Help spread the message today that all men and women of all sizes, color, ages and abilities should celebrate self-acceptance and be good to themselves. Let’s face it, the message out there has created unrealistic beauty standards.

I am so pleased with our police departments and how they handle domestic violence calls. Recently in Muncy Township Chief McKibben rescued an abducted woman from an estranged boyfriend who had a knife. And in Muncy Chief Sutton was given an award for his support and commitment to the Wise Options program, a safe haven for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault through the YWCA – perfect timing and well deserved, as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Saturday, Oct. 20 the 2nd annual Muncy Monster Dash. Proceeds benefit Ward L. Myers Elementary School. 5k/Run Walk to begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Kids Fun Run at 10:30 a.m.
