Christmas Comes Early to the Muncy Historical Society
MUNCY – On Saturday, December 1 at 10 a.m., a flannel nightgown-clad Bob Dunkelberger will seat himself in front of the Society’s fireplace to read Clement Clarke Moore’s “The Night Before Christmas” classic.
This annual event is designed to entertain both young and old alike, and as in past years, Santa Claus is expected to make a guest appearance. The meeting room will be decorated for the holidays and there will be plenty of opportunities for picture-taking. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
The Society’s meetings and events are always open to the public and light refreshments will be served immediately following the reading.
The one-hour WVIA-produced documentary, Our Town Muncy, compiled from the efforts of Muncy residents who volunteered their time to become videographers and storytellers is now available in the Society’s gift shop. While the Society generally closes after the holiday reading, this year the Society’s 40 North Main Street address will be open for holiday shopping on December 1 from noon to 2 p.m. and again on December 7, 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
