Is there anything to be said about the weather? For those of us who like January to have snow and true winter temperatures, this past week has been a disappointment. Anyone who was looking forward to the anticipated 50 degree days was equally disappointed. I suppose windshield wiper salesmen have been happy. East Lycoming Little League registration for both baseball and softball will be held at the Hughesville Area Public Library this coming Friday evening and Saturday morning (January 18th & 19th). Registration for AYSO soccer for girls and boys will be held at Ashkar Elementary School foyer next week, Thursday evening (January 24th) and Saturday morning (January 26th). There is a minimal fee for registration in either organization, with discounted fees for more than one child in a family. Although it may be a while until we can see spring sports events outdoors, the winter sports seasons for local high school and elementary athletes are in full swing.
With the flu season upon us, I hope everyone is taking all the recommended precautions and doing everything possible to avoid catching or spreading the viruses. Let’s all stay healthy and warm!
