Saturday, May 18, a program on Pennsylvania Trees, from forest to mill, at the Montour Preserve Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Meet in Environmental Education Center. Presented by Jon D. Beam, Senior Naturalist and Pat Shull, mobile mill operator. PA’s forests cover almost 60 per cent of the state. They provide opportunities for bird watching, hiking, camping, photography, hunting and fishing. They keep air and water clean and help prevent flooding and soil erosion. Our forests also provide us with some of the best hardwood lumber in the world. Take a walk through the woods to discuss the history and conservation of our woodlands. There will also be a special demonstration of turning a log into lumber at a portable saw mill.

Sat. May 18 members of the Muncy Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. by the Muncy Community pool to begin the community plantings. Anyone is welcome to help. Bring tools.

Sun. May 19 Gospel Songfest at Huntersville United Methodist Church, 5263 Rabbittown Road. Special guests will be the Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church Kids Bell Choir. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Sun. May 19 Moreland Baptist Church at 4 p.m. will present ‘Bless This House’ on Family Sunday, a collection of music and drama centered around the family. Dinner is at 5 p.m. The church is located 5 miles east on Rt. 442 past Clarkstown. For more information call 546-2568.
