Congratulations to all of the 2013 graduates in the Montgomery school district as well as the surrounding communities. Most commencement ceremonies will be happening at the end of this week and the upcoming weekend. This time of year brings about thoughts of both closure and new beginnings. I am sure these thoughts weigh heavier on the minds of educators. We all look forward to the summer break, but anticipate what the fall will bring.

Whether or not you know any 2013 graduates, I encourage you all to look towards the prospect of new beginnings. Find something to inspire you and work to find value in each day. I was lucky enough to attend the Relay for Life event this past weekend in Hughesville. It was great to see so many participants from our tri-town area. Everyone met with a common goal, and everyone walked because they had been inspired by something or someone in their lives.

Montgomery events

The Montgomery Area School District will hold its Commencement ceremony on Friday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the complex. The annual Award’s Night for seniors will be held Thursday, June 6 at the same time and location.

The Montgomery Area School District will hold its monthly board meeting on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is held in the district office boardroom.
