Montgomery locals
The surrounding communities of Montgomery were busy this past week. The Oak Grove Community Center held its annual festival and was alive with food, games, and entertainment. The various stands were sponsored by local church groups, athletic teams and community organizations. A great time was had by all in attendance.
Elimsport held its annual community yard sales with over 50 families in participation. Our tiny village had many visitors, all of whom had the opportunity to see our beautiful farm land and open spaces.
My own household welcomed a new addition to our family. We adopted our second dog, a rat terrier my son appropriately named, “Rascal”. I share this bit of personal information with you to encourage you to think about the adoption/rescue option when considering your next pet. There are many shelter animals in need of a loving home.
Revitalize Montgomery continues to work to beautify our community. They are to be commended on their efforts. The committee continues to urge community members to attend their meetings as well as take part in their various projects. Stay tuned for the announcement of the August meeting.
Montgomery AYSO recently held its Soccer sign-ups for the fall season. AYSO officers would like to extend the invitation to play soccer to all children in the area and have extended their registration period to accommodate families who have been busy with their various summer activities. If interested, please register your son/daughter as soon as possible at www.eayso.org.
