Back to school giveaway

Saint Andrew Lutheran Church of Muncy is hosting a 2nd Annual “Back to School Give-Away” that will provide school supplies and food for area families in need on Saturday, August 17. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and it is first come, first serve. Saint Andrew is located on the corner of West Penn Street and Main Street, two blocks up from the Muncy post office. The event will end at noon.

Benefit ride for Sunnybrook Meadows

There will be a benefit motorcycle ride for Sunnybrook Meadows Therapeutic Riding Stable in Montgomery on Saturday, August 24. Registration will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The ride will begin and end at the Hughesville American Legion Riders Post #35 in Hughesville who will be sponsoring the event.

Gettysburg bus trip with historical society

HUGHESVILLE – Wednesday, August 28, is the deadline to pay for a bus trip to Gettysburg to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War Battle that took place there. The East Lycoming Historical Society will be sponsoring the trip scheduled for Thursday, October 10. The bus will leave the Muncy Valley Moose parking lot on Rt. 405 at 7 a.m. David Richards, a Picture Rocks native and tour guide, will provide a two hour professional battlefield tour with emphasis on Civil War soldiers from our area. For ticket information, stop by the museum on Saturday or Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Sixth annual Corvette Show in Muncy

The Sixth AnnualCovette Show on Main Street and the Artists From Our Own Backyard will be held on Saturday, September 21. The event which will include a collective gathering of local artisans, food, entertainment and lots of kids’ activities. Free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
