Muncy locals

By Staff | Sep 17, 2013

The Muncy Monster Dash is coming up October 26 and the students could really use some extra support. The Elementary Organization of Parents and Teachers hold this event each year to raise money for the playgrounds, school supplies, books, field trips, tee shirts and much more. Everything goes back to Ward L. Myers Elementary School. The members still need sponsors and reported that last year they had 261 participants for the 5K run and walk which included 100 kids with their families. Nicole Meyer is accepting applications and can give you more details on being a sponsor. Sponsors range from being a gold sponsor at $1,000 down to being a “Goodie Bag Sponsor” which includes the ability to put in promotional items in the participants goodie bags. Nicole can be reached at 570-940-0226.

The Senior Expo, sponsored by Representative Garth Everett and Senator Eugene Yaw, was a success at the Pennsdale Fire Hall last Tuesday. Talk about goodie bags, I saw some folks carrying out several bags full of handouts as I was walking in. And I must say, I acquired a lot of good information not only for myself, but for my aging parents. They rely on my brother and I a lot as caregivers to help them with their finances and medical appointments. It is always good to know what resources are out there to help them.
