Montgomery locals

By Staff | Nov 19, 2013

Veterans were honored by students in grades pre-K through 12 during three assemblies this past week. Students at Montgomery School District presented readings, songs, poems, and videos to honor our soldiers of yesterday and today. As always, it was an honor to take part in these programs as well as to witness the attentiveness and respect of the students.

The Montgomery Red Raider Foundation and Revitalize Montgomery also held meetings recently. Both of these committees are dedicated to serving both the school and community as well as to bring positive recognition to our town. The committee encourages community members to attend their meetings as well as take part in their various projects.

The Susquehanna Greenway Photo Contest Gallery will be on display in the Holiday Inn Downtown for the entire month of November. The PM Exchange featuring the Susquehanna Greenway Photo Gallery will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Thursday, November 21.

The Montgomery Virtuoso music and theatre ensemble will be presenting its fall play, “Hiding in the Open” on Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are discounted for senior citizens and can be purchased at the door, or tickets can be pre-ordered by emailing Cari McNear at cmcnear@montasd.org.

Also, take a moment to visit the Montgomery Borough website (www.montgomeryborough.org). On the site you will find interesting information about the history of our town as well as news concerning the Watershed project and Revitalization project.
