“Little Women” exhibit at Hughesville Library
Did you now that Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women” was set during the time of the American Civil War and the years that followed? Just in time for the ongoing observance of the 150th anniversary of that terrible conflict, the Hughesville Area Pubic Library is featuring Mrs. June Laurenson’s lovely collection of handmade and hand-accessorized dolls. Several of them represent the main characters from Alcott’s book, the four March sisters. Spectators will also recognize Hans Brinker, Saint Nicholas, and Little Red Riding Hood! Don’t miss this beautiful collection in HAPL’s glass display case in the circulation desk area.
