Montgomery locals Jan. 15, 2014
Students from our tri towns joined voices with representatives from 37 other schools this past week for the annual PMEA District 8 Chorus festival. Canton hosted the event this year. We were lucky to get past the worst of the severe cold and weather issues so that this tremendous educational experience could take place. We are fortunate to live in an area of the state where the arts in our school are still supported.
I am hoping to receive some information on upcoming 2014 events. Whether you are involved in a community organization or church group, we are very interested in bringing attention to your activities.
Revitalize Montgomery will meet today, January 15, at 4:00pm at Tickle’s Music Shop on Main Street, Montgomery.
The committee will consider what the next project will be in town. There is a grant opportunity with DCNR. They will help organize and plan upcoming events for Montgomery plus focus on the streetscape, signage, river trails and on other projects that we think are important. Special events will also be discussed.
The Montgomery Performance Arts Boosters have cancelled their January meeting and will not be meeting again until the first Wednesday in February.
Also, take a moment to visit the Montgomery Borough website (www.montgomeryborough.org). On the site you will find interesting information about the history of our town as well as news concerning the Watershed project and Revitalization project.
