Pruning workshop set for gardeners

By Staff | Jan 14, 2014

Attention home gardeners, make the cut! Get the new gardening year off to a good start with a free educational program. Master Gardeners Karl Zierle and Paul Nyman will be presenting a gardening workshop on ‘Pruning Landscape Trees and Ornamental Plants’.

Attendees will learn the definition of pruning, and gain understanding of tree biology and pruning objectives. By the end of the activity, participants will be familiar with pruning tools, how to train young trees, and the various reasons and types of pruning for ornamental plants and trees. “When you are ready to make that first cut this spring, you will be able to cut with confidence!”

This event will be held on Saturday, February 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Chapel Room of the Lysock Complex at 542 County Farm Road, Montoursville, PA.

Pre-registration is requested due to limited seating, and must be completed by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, February 6. To register, call the Cooperative Extension Office at 570-433-3040 or go online to extension.psu.edu/lycoming/events and click on this event.
