Montgomery Locals Feb. 12
The snowstorm did not keep students from the Montgomery band program from travelling to the 2014 PMEA District Band festival. Five of our students journeyed to Berwick this past week after preparing since November to audition for Region Band. The students made school history in that all five did qualify to go on to the Region level of competition to be held in March.
The students had already made history by being the highest qualifying number of District participants that the school has ever sent to the preliminary level of competition. Congratulations to band director, Brian Rehn, and students Mary Arnold, Sage Barto, Cheyenne Lynch, Emily Winder, and Kelsey Roberts.
Winter sports are winding down with last home games being held for both wrestling and girl’s basketball this past week. Congratulations to all winter sports teams for their efforts this year.
Take a moment this week to acknowledge the valentines in your lives. Remember that friendships are special relationships to encourage as well as significant others. I am blessed in both departments and would like to send out special wishes to family and friends during this Valentine’s Day week.
