Montgomery Locals Feb. 19

By Staff | Feb 18, 2014

Revitalize Montgomery was busy again this past week. Despite the snow, plans were made to welcome spring with various clean up projects as well as a bulb planting project. Mention was made of the 5K walk/run being planned for early April and the desire to have street clean up done by this event. They will be having their next meeting on Weds. Feb. 26th at Tickles Music Store and Cafe at 6 p.m.

Many of my vocal students were busy this week with a Singing Valentines project. Virtuoso students from the high school delivered over 130 valentines as a unique fundraiser for their Performance Arts Boosters organization.

Congratulations to the Montgomery recipients of this year’s Williamsport Chamber of Commerce awards. The senior winner was Matthew Reinhart and teacher was Mrs. Darlene Waldron from the elementary school.

The Montgomery Scout program, Pack 29, will be holding their annual Pinewood Derby car race on Saturday, February 22 at 6:00 p.m. Registration and weigh-ins begin at 5:15pm. The race will be held at the Brick Church.

The Elimsport United Methodist Church is holding a social time every Wednesday morning from 7 10. Come enjoy a hot coffee or cocoa and socialize. The meetings are being held in the church social hall.

The Montgomery Fire Dept. will be hosting a chicken barbecue on Sat. Feb. 22.

Also, take a moment to visit the Montgomery Borough website (www.montgomeryborough.org). On the site you will find interesting information about the history of our town as well as news concerning the Watershed project and Revitalization project.
