Montgomery Locals Apr. 9

By Staff | Apr 8, 2014

Montgomery Park was alive this past weekend with new and returning activities. The Montgomery LEO Club’s first 5K Walk/Run race was held this past Saturday. Also, many of our community’s AYSO soccer teams began spring practices on the park grounds.

Also underway are the Little League and Softball programs. Take in a game and support our young athletes this spring season.

Easter is quickly approaching. Be sure to watch out for local churches and fire departments holding Easter Egg hunts and Palm Sunday and Easter services.

The First “Second Saturday” Spring Fling will be held at Heritage Park in Montgomery on April 12 from 11am to 4 p.m. The location is off of Houston Avenue behind the Borough Office or behind the Library at 1 S. Main Street. Vendors will be set up and shops will be open for business. The Revitalize Montgomery committee is encouraging the community to come out and support this new, monthly event. Look for food, live entertainment and kids activities, rain or shine.

St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church Route 405 Montgomery will be presenting a Chancel Drama “The Last Supper” on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p,m. Free to the public and handicapped accessible.

Also, take a moment to visit the Montgomery Borough website (www.montgomeryborough.org). On the site you will find interesting information about the history of our town as well as news concerning the Watershed project and Revitalization project.
