Montgomery Locals Apr. 16
We finally had a weekend that felt as if spring was here to stay. Many homeowners in and around the Montgomery area were busy with yard clean ups, garden preparation, and outdoor activities. Saturday’s Spring Fling had many visitors and on Sunday area churches held Palm Sunday services. Many of our youth participated in soccer and baseball games.
The Montgomery school district welcomed back teams participating in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), TSA (Technology Student Association), and OM (Odyssey of the Mind) this week. All teams had reached the state level of competition. Students from our Business classes were also recognized for their participation in the annual Pennsylvania Stock Market game. The students were recognized at a luncheon attended by Governor Corbett.
Easter egg hunts are scheduled for the following locations on Saturday, April 19: Montgomery Borough, Oak Grove Community Center, and the Elimsport United Methodist Church. Start time for the hunts is 10:00 a.m.
Many of us begin our major house cleaning during this time of the year. Consider helping to clean up the borough. The Black Hole Creek organization will be holding a clean-up on Saturday, April 26.
The Montgomery High School music and theatre ensemble, Virtuoso, will be holding its spring musical on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. They will be performing Shrek, the Musical. Tickets will be sold at the door while they are still available.
