Montgomery Locals May 7
The weather cooperated this past Saturday and allowed the Montgomery Baseball and AYSO Soccer programs to hold opening day and anniversary festivities.
The Montgomery Little League program hosted its opening day ceremonies at the Clinton Township field in Montgomery this past Saturday morning. Students from the Little League program through the high school boys and girls baseball and softball programs were featured. This annual event is held to officially kick off the Little League season.
The Montgomery AYSO soccer program held a day-long pick-up soccer game at the park to honor 50 years of AYSO soccer. The event featured soccer games as well as various food vendors and activity stands.
Much of the Montgomery school community and surrounding area came out last Friday evening to support the high school Student Council in a senior verses faculty donkey basketball game. The teachers were victorious, but the students made some lasting memories.
Revitalize Montgomery will be meeting today, May 7, at 10 a.m at Valley Rehab. One of the major topics to discuss will be the Susquehanna Greenway Project and possible grant money for the river trail.
Downtown Main Street in Montgomery will be offering another Second Saturday open house this Saturday on May 10. There will also be an open park running at the same time. Check out Facebook if you are interested in setting up a craft or food stand.
The Washington Township Fire Company has recently opened a playground on the fire hall property. Elimsport residents are encouraged to use the new facility.
