Vietnam War Veterans Tribute held Saturday
SONESTOWN – On Saturday July 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Endless Mountains War Memorial Museum in Sonestown will pay tribute to veterans who served during the Vietnam War.
There will be selected displays of personal memorabilia from soldiers who served including Sullivan County’s own Paul McMahon who served with the US Army’s 1st Cavalry Division and was killed in action there.
Inside playing on the Museum’s big screen, there will also be films about the war. Outside there will be 60’s music playing and a period display of weapons set up around the Museum’s 105 Howitzer.
Vietnam veterans will also be present to talk to visitors and they will also be letting youngsters try on some of thier original regular combat gear that they wore on patrols in Vietnam.
Any veterans or family members who would like to bring items from that time period for show and tell are encouraged to do so.
Admission is always free to the public but donations will be greatfully accepted.
