Shooting stars or meteors streak across the night sky. Although they might seem erratic in nature, they are somewhat predictable. Join Montour Preserve nature center on Friday, Oct. 10, from 7-8 p.m., to learn what makes a meteor shower, tips for viewing and the dates of upcoming meteor showers. Two meteor showers are approaching: the Orionids later this month and the Leonids in November. This free program will meet at the Environmental Education Center.
