Annual concert scheduled for West Branch Chorale
The West Branch Chorale is preparing for their annual Christmas concerts. The program entitled “Carols for Christmas” will feature secular and sacred carols. The women of the Chorale will sing the Irish carol “Christmas in Killarney.” The men will harmonize to “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening”, one of seven songs from”Frostianna” by Randall Thompson with words by Robert Frost.
Also featured on the program will be the French carol “Masters In the Hall,” and “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day.” Two spirituals “Have You Seen the Baby” and “Go Where I Send Thee” will pull out all the stops and let the Chorale cut loose according to director Jeanne Berninger.
The soloists are Robert Bowman and Rebecca Elkins.
The 70 voice group will present the final concert o Sunday, December 7 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant View Church, 994 E. Penn Street, Muncy.
The second concert will be given on Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m. at Faith Methodist Church, Montoursville.
The Chorale is directed by Jeanne Berninger with Joy Barto as accompanist. The public is cordially invited to attend this free concert. A free will offering will be taken.
