Montgomery Locals Nov. 26
I am sending out Thanksgiving wishes to all of you. I hope that you are able to take some time off from work to celebrate and give thanks with those who are important in your lives. Too often, Thanksgiving is overshadowed by Christmas decorations and Black Friday advertisements. I encourage you all to give Thanksgiving the attention it deserves and think about the meaning behind the holiday.
I was busy last week with my fall play at the high school. Many thanks to my cast, crew, school community, and patrons for their support of the Virtuoso program, “Our Town.” We hope to be in the Ray of Light awards coming up in May.
Next week, I will be highlighting some of the Christmas activities being planned for Montgomery. The borough has been busy brainstorming some events with the new Local and State Government class at the high school.
Revitalize Montgomery committee members would like to organize all community events on the borough’s website and we would like anyone to submit any upcoming events for 2015 to Wally Bohner at the Montgomery borough office. So far another wine festival is being planned and a 5K run with the Lions Club.
Veterans Day was a visual celebration with the new banners thanks to Fae Herb. They honor 15 local veterans.
Some new titles just arrived at the Montgomery Library and there is a new antique store on Main Street with some great ideas for holiday gifts.
Are you on Twitter? The Montgomery High School Broadcasting class has launched a new Twitter account covering Raider news. Consider following us @MASDnews. You can receive play by play from featured sporting events and stay on top of everything happening in the district.
