Montgomery Locals Jan. 7, 2015
Happy New Year! I hope this week’s column finds all of you well rested from the holidays and ready to live 2015 to the fullest.
My family and I had a very restful vacation. We enjoyed an empty calendar with very few outings. Every once in a while, it is necessary to have some down time to catch up with family and focus on time together. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and look forward to testing out new golf clubs when spring arrives.
Interested in a good movie? “Into the Woods” did not disappoint. I was curious heading into the movie, as it is an operetta verses a musical, meaning it is almost completely sung. I was very impressed with the actors and the seriousness with which they prepared their singing voices. The interwoven fairy tales held both drama and comedy, and proved a great introduction into the operetta genre for someone new to the style.
The Montgomery Performance Arts Boosters will be meting on Thursday, January 8 at 7 p.m. Continued fundraisers for new band uniforms and the spring musical will be discussed.
