Montgomery Locals March 18, 2015
This past week brought us a small glimpse of the possibility of spring. A few days with sunshine, chirping birds, and melting snow seems to be the perfect anecdote for the winter blahs.
Congratulations to our Montgomery OM teams for their strong showing at the Berwick competition this past weekend. The Primary “Wacky Weather” team as well as the Elementary, Junior High, and High School Structures teams, all took first place at the regional competition. They will be advancing to State competition in April.
The Great American Clean-up of PA is underway over the next several months. Due to the winter most of our state experienced, there are many resource areas offering up help and services to encourage volunteers. Some Montgomery residents were featured on WNEP TV for their efforts on spring clean-up in the Montgomery Borough. In our area, contact the Lycoming County Resource Management Service if you are interested in volunteering.
There will be an informational/discussion meeting for the upcoming summer program proposed by Pastor Viking Dietrich on Tuesday, March 24 at 7pm. The meeting will be held at the Borough Office and will offer discussion time for this worthwhile kids’ program.
Also on March 24th is kindergarten and Pre-K registration in the district office from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. or from 1 to 3 p.m. Children are not to attend the registration. Proof of residency, birth and immunization records are required. Proof of income is needed for Pre-K.
An interactive Easter experience will be held Mar. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the New Covenant Assembly in Montgomery. Enter Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, visit the Upper Room for the Last Supper and pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. Admission is free and each family will receive a gift. Call 570-547-1503 for more information.
The Oak Grove Community Center will not be holding an April breakfast.
