Montgomery Locals April 15, 2015
Slowly but surely, signs of spring are popping up. From the beginning buds of flowers to first baseball and softball games and track meets. Be sure to check out your community athletic schedules and support our teams.
Pastor Viking Dietrich met with the “Summer Food Program” committee this past week. This will be a 6 week program this summer, held three days per week, and will offer activities and food for area children. The program will be called “Summer Alive” and I will keep posting updates on this worthwhile program as well as their next meeting time for interested volunteers. At this time they are going to look into planning a garden and to secure the funding.
Arbor Day is coming and Montgomery is involved in the The Great American Clean-up of PA that is underway over the next several months. Due to the winter most of our state experienced, there are many resource areas offering help and services to encourage volunteers. In our area, please visit or contact the Montgomery Borough office if you are interested in volunteering.
