Hughesville locals April 22, 2015
One of the most pleasant spots in Hughesville is found on Main Street. Located in one of the oldest buildings, the East Lycoming Historical Society museum is open for the season, with an engaging array of local artifacts and fun exhibits. Plan to make at least a couple of visits this year, and bring your family and friends, young and old. Museum hours are Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 3 p.m. with other times available by appointment. If you know someone who is visiting on a weekday, check with museum staff. Admission is free for everyone, donations cheerfully accepted.
It’s a busy time of year for the ELHS, as well as many other groups in the community. Both indoor and outdoor events are planned throughout the area from now until summer, so be sure to keep your calendar up to date! I think we can all be justly proud of the many ways our community works together and improves life here in our corner of the world.
This weekend celebrates the 65th anniversary ceremony of East Lycoming Little League Baseball. Starting Friday at 6 p.m. there will be an Alumni game along with a few carnival stands open. On Saturday, the official opening day, there will be a parade starting at 9 a.m. walking down Main Street and continuing on to the baseball field, where there will be a presentation and a carnival and some little league games.
