Montgomery Locals May 6, 2015

By Staff | May 6, 2015

The sound of lawn mowers was very welcoming throughout the borough and surrounding community this past week. It seems as if Mother Nature has finally decided to allow spring to arrive. It’s nice to be able to plan some outdoor activities. My own family celebrated with a canoe trip this past weekend. I encourage you to contact me with information regarding upcoming spring and summer events.

Montgomery kicked off its Little League’s 70th season this past Saturday with opening day celebrations at Clinton Field. All players were announced and senior, Sarah Bopp, performed the National Anthem. Two original players, Bob Farley and Dennis Ladd were there to throw out the first pitch. There are 21 teams this year.

Congratulations to Jorganna Showers who will be representing Montgomery at this year’s Laurel festival. Also, a special acknowledgement of junior, Amy Drick, who has been accepted to Governor’s School for Agricultural Sciences to be held on the PSU campus this summer.

Students from the Montgomery Tech Department participated in the annual Penn College Computer Fair on May 5. Students competed in the areas of Graphic Design and Digital Movie Making.

Be sure to check out the Revitalize Montgomery Facebook Page. There are tons of great photos and updates. Feel free to add comments.
