Muncy Locals May 6, 2015

By Staff | May 6, 2015

It is hard this time of year to get to all of the major events happening in this area and we like to give you a heads up on what is coming in the near future. Memorial weekend activities are in the busy planning stages. The garden club will be out doing community clean ups and plantings. The flower pots will be lined up soon along Main Street and the annual parade and pig roast will be the official start of summer for our area. I am looking forward to it. This past weekend gave us a taste of the weather forthcoming.

I was sorry to hear that Nick’s Barber shop on East Water Street closed after 85 years. This is another icon to Muncy that will be sadly missed by many loyal customers.

Good news goes to Muncy graduate Brian Merrick who played Wild Bill Hickock last weekend on the last episond of Legends and Lies: The Real West, a series that ran on Fox News Channel. Brian works with special effects, lives in Gettysburg as a private contractor and was approached by a company he works with in Richmond, Virginia.

Good luck to Bridget Murphy and Joshua Lloyd this Saturday at the Ray of Light Awards. Both are nominated for their leading roles in “The Crucible.”
