It has been a busy first full week in August in my house with Golf Camp and yard work. Check out some of the great upcoming events happening this week!

Revitalize Montgomery will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Tickle’s Music Store. Alice Trowbridge will be present tot talk about the possibilities of a new “Riverwalk Park” in Montgomery. All are invited to attend.

The Montgomery Area School District Red Raider Foundation has been chosen as the recipient of this year’s Hudock Capital Group’s charity golf fundraiser event. The event will be held this Friday, August 7 at the Wynding Brook Golf Course in Milton. Registration is from 8:30am to 8:45am with play beginning at 9:00am. Fee includes greens fee, cart and lunch. Other charitable donations can also be made at registration and are tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to “The Red Raider Foundation”. If interested in registering a 4 person scramble team, call (570) 326-9500 or email ccline@hudockcapital.com.

A reminder that this coming Saturday is the August “Second Saturday” event in downtown Montgomery from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be food and live music as well as a scavenger hunt to win a child’s bicycle currently on display at 25 North Main Street. Vendors are still needed.

Saturday, August 8, will also be the annual Blueberry Festival at the Lutheran “Brick” Church as well as a Wine Festival in the Montgomery Park. These two events will run simultaneously with the “Second Saturday” observance.

The First Baptist Church of Elimsport will be celebrating its 150th anniversary on Saturday, August 8 at 5:00pm. The picnic celebration will be held at the church pavilion and will feature the band, “With Faith”, and a testimony time. The church will supply beverages, paper goods, and hot dogs. If attending, please bring a dish to share. If planning to participate, you can register online through the church website under “150th Anniversary Picnic and Concert Registration”.

“Revitalize Montgomery” continues its busy schedule this summer. If interested, meetings are held twice each month. The first Wednesday of the month is an evening meeting at “Tickle’s Music” Store beginning at 6:00pm. The third Wednesday is a 10:00am meeting at “Valley Rehab” on Main Street. Each Second Saturday event is on Main Street from 11:00am to 3:00pm. A reminder that there is no fee to set up a stand to advertise your businesses, crafts, highlight your organizations, or share the mission of your churches. Participation is encouraged.

Please note that the Adam Room Museum will be open on each Second Saturday event from 10:00AM to 1:00PM.

Free summer music concerts are being held in Montgomery Park on the last Thursday of each month through September. Concert times are 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There is no fee for non-profit stands. The next concert will be this Thursday, August 27, featuring the Lunar Maneuver Band.
